It’s true what the Swiss say, you really don’t have to leave the country to take a holiday. Hidden at the end of the 17km Gotthard tunnel, Ticino feels like a completely different place. The road winds through the countryside, teetering on the edge of sun dappled lakes, days are spent by the pool or exploring mountain villages, evenings indulging in local delicacies at hidden grottos.
